Avoriaz is a purpose built ski resort with a difference. The town which is dramatically situated on a clifftop location overlooking the neighbouring resort of Morzine isn’t composed of the usual concrete cube blocks, instead, thanks to its unique design, the wooden clad appartments blend sympathetically in to the surrounding mountains.

Avoriaz is situated at the hart of the Portes du Soleil which is one of the world’s largest interlinked ski areas. The town of Avoriaz is completely pedestrianised, everyone makes their way around either on foot, ski or on horse-drawn sleighs. The town caters especially well for families thanks to a range of specially designed children’s ski areas and a rather fabulous indoor waterpark.
